The Rocker

The Rocker is a comedy, music movie directed by Peter Cattaneo and stars, Rainn Wilson (Robert 'Fish' Fishman), Christina Applegate (Kim), Teddy Geiger (Curtis), Josh Gad (Matt Gadman), Emma Stone (Amelia) and others. The movie is about Fish getting another opportunity to be a rocker with his nephew after he fails coming close to big time earlier on in life. There was not a whole lot not to like about this movie especially if you are inspired rocker who has been on YouTube or the internet. I found it to be a bit dramatic, inspiring and funny. So if you are into music and want to see a some kind of light hearted comedy you might like this. There was a lot of funniness but I don't know if I had to many lol (laugh out loud) moments from the comedy but I still think the storyline was whats the word cute enough to enjoy the whole movie.

Wanted was directed by Timur Bekmambetow and is a action, drama, thriller. The movie stars James McAvoy (Wesley Allan Gibson), Angelina Jolie (Fox), Morgan Freeman (Sloan) and some other good actors and actresses. The movie is about the burnt out accountant Wesley who is recruited into what is called a fraternity of aassassins like his unknown father was a part of. First I think have to say that the action in this movie would probably, make The Terminator, Double 007 and Superman look goofy butt if they tried the same action related moves, so the action with the characters as far as I know was impossible in realty just so you know. I think I found watching this movie was that what I paid for was fake Hollywood violence done good with a camera and I am sure a ton of money and also with a story that involved a lot of what could be considered insane and thoughtless behavior. I thought there was some good stars in this movie, but I think the movie needed more then just a bunch of unrealistic action and less of a story that was unlikely, for me to go see it again.

Tropic Thunder

Tropic Thunder I think an interesting take on a Hollywood comedy. This movie was directed by Ben Stiller, and stars Ben Stiller as (Tugg Speedman), Jack Black (Jeff Portnoy), Robert Downey Jr. (Kirk Lazarus) and others. This movie is a comedy, action that is about soldiers struggling making a movie so much that they are put unknowingly into a real life jungle combat scenario by the director as cameras are rolling from certain areas. Well I thought that the plot of the story is hilarious as well as interesting since it must take a lot of work producing a movie within a movie. The movie I thought was for sure entertaining with the action of a war movie colliding with comedy, although some of the humor was crude and intense with war scenes, but I can handle that for a really funny movie like this. One character who I thought could have been the most funny and designed well was Tom Cruise as Les Grossman. If I had to play a bad guy character in a movie I would pick him because his elements of greed and power and so forth make for some hilarious moments of comical fury and rage. I am glad I bought a ticket to the comedy because of the dramatic and at times completely hilarious situations and action, with the good Hollywood filming work. Oh and also because in most scenes I was wondering what was going to happen next something, good, bad, hilarious, insane, foolish and so on.

Pineapple Express

Directed by David Gordon Green and starring Seth Rogen (Dale Denton), James Franco (Saul Silver), Danny R. McBride (Red), this movie was a comedy, crime, thriller. I thought the movie was something like Leaving Las Vegas and The Big Lebowski. The movie is about a stoner Dale Denton witnessing a murder by a cop and then going on a run as he speculates there are bad dudes on his tale. I believe the movie was R mostly because of the drug content but at certain times fortunately it also is anti drug because you hear the characters blaming their trouble influencing behaviors on smoking pot. But anyhow not that I am a violence fan, I am not even into a lot of Quentin Tarantino movies but the violence in the scenes were funny to me because of the goofy butt moves the characters got for fighting among each other. But anyhow the movie got into quite the adventure by the end as the really bad dudes in the film came after Dale and his friends. The movie had a lot of crazy things like the drugs and gunfights going along with all of the sketchiness of the characters who were real goofy making some funny moments here and there in the movie. So I thought the movie was an alright comedy because of the goofy violence scenes and action that connects some of the humorous characters.

Step Brothers

Step Brothers is directed by Adam McKay and stars Will Ferrell (Brennan Huff), John C. Reilly (Dale Doback), Mary Steenburgen (Nancy Huff) and others. This comedy is about two step brothers that have been living a spoiled type of life and are basically forced to live together once their parents get hitched and they have quite the amusing and bumpy relationship. The movie was a bit crude and dramatic in a dark funny kind of way as the stepbrothers have a relationship that becomes rather hostile at some points. I felt bad for the two stepbrothers probably more then Harry and Loyd in Dumb and Dumber because of there predisposition to be acting stupid and goofy. I liked both step brother characters equally in the movie with there amusing personalities that create many different mixtures of humor as a paired comedy force. Anyhow I am sure you will laugh a lot in this movie, I probably laughed 30 times or so I thought it was up to beat on the humor. So overall I think I am trying to say the movie was rather hilarious but sometimes with a dramatic lining that you know was going to to turn into more comedy somehow. So if you want to laugh with these two wild and crazy step brothers and don't mind some crude scenes, I am sure you will get a kick out of this movie.
