War

War was directed by Phillip G. Atwell and it is of the the action, thriller genre. The movie stars Jet Li (Rogue), Jason Statham (Jack Crawford), John Lone (Chang), Devon Aoki (Kera) and others. The movie seemed to be a combination of the Usual Suspects, Rush Hour 3 and Beverly Hills Ninja, no just kidding about the Beverly Hills Ninja movie but it did remind me of the other 2. The basic idea of the movie is that an FBI agent is coming to avenge his partners death which is connected to a mysterious Chinese assassin thug known as Rogue. One of the things I did like about the movie was that it did not seem like many typical action movies because there is a twist in the story that I don't think most people would be able to understand until actually seeing it in the picture and the twist was fairly easy to understand for me as well. The movie was a little over 2 hours long and it was some what graphic in some ways obviously because it is about Chinese organized criminals and it did not really have any humor in it which for some reason I was expecting I think because I recently saw Rush Hour 3 with Chris Tucker, and Jackie Chan, which had a similar plot and was pretty funny. Anyhow I would guess though that if you like action movies with pretty good music and movies that have a twist in the plot you would find this movie to be pretty good.

SuperBad

Superbad was directed by Gregg Mottola and is a comedy that stars Jonah Hill (Seth), Michael Cera (Evan), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Fogell), Bill Hader (Officer Slater), Seth Rogen (Officer Michaels) and others. The movie is about Evan and Seth two buddies in high school trying to help two potential lady friends have a party. So the movie had a couple of scenes of humor and adventure among the party animal kids and most of the humor was about drugs, a lot of cursing, sex, police officers nothing that meaningful. The kids in the movie embark on a adventure to purchase alcohol to bring to Jules house party as they encounter the police and other characters in their way. So I guess I would have to say that if the movie had more funnier stuff going on and lines along with the reckless behavior of the characters it could have been more like Supergood. The Invasion

The Invasion was directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel and is an action, horror, sci fi, drama, thriller movie. The movie stars Nicole Kidman (Carol Bennell), Daniel Craig (Ben Driscoll), Jeremy Northham (Tucker Kaufman), Jackson Bond (Oliver), Jeffrey Wright (Dr. Stephen Galeano) and others. This movie reminded me of being a combination of 28 Days later, and War of the Worlds. The movie is about a Washington Psychiatrist Carol Bennell facing an alien epidemic while trying to keep her son safe and deal with the unpredicatble alien creatures. I thought the movie was pretty creepy the way the aliens have their plan of taking over but I guess that is the beauty of this horror movie. There was quite a few intense scenes of action and some pretty scary moments with the alien forces. The movie at times seemed predictable but I would say by the end of the movie it did not exactly turn out to be completely that way. So I am not sure if the movie had any great meaning but I thought it was fun and pretty cool to watch for a hour or so because of mostly the suspense and horror in the film.

Underdog

Underdog was directed by Frederik Du Chau and is an action, adventure, comedy, family, fantasy and sci fi movie. In the movie a funny beagle goes to a lab and receives super dog type powers which turns him into Underdog the hero and he then shares his secret with his friend in the movie Jack. Before being a movie Underdog was a TV series that ran from 1964 to 1973. The movie stars Jason Lee (Underdog), Peter Dinklage (Dr. Simon Barsinister), James Belushi (Dan Unger), Patrick Warburton (Cad), Alex Neuberger (Jack) and others. I thought that the movie consisted of a good cast with funny characters especially Underdog, the evil doctor and his helper Cad. I don't really have any complaints about the movie because I think it was a good family movie, with funny moments and cute canines. I liked this hero type movie because the superhero Underdog himself was a funny character so two waggling tails up for Underdog.

Rush Hour 3

Rush Hour 3 was directed by Brett Ratner and is an action, crime, thriller and comedy movie that stars Jackie Chan (Chief Inspector Lee), Chris Tucker (Detective James Carter), Max Von Sydow (Varden Reynard), Hiroyuki Sanada (Kenji) and some other pretty good actors and actresses. The movie has some complicated parts to its plot such as the significance of the character Genevieve, but basically the plot of the story is that Lee and Carter travel to France to deal with the Chinese mob. This movie reminds me of something like Bad Boys and Lethal Weapon combined together. I thought that this movie was much better then the first one which was the only one of the other movies of Rush Hour that I saw and I thought it was more funnier then the first although some of the humorous parts were kind of raunchy in the third movie. There were also some pretty cool scenes of action something I think Jackie Chan can be really good at. It was not a bad movie to see although I don't think the movie had the most interesting plot for a story but it was fun to watch because the characters were funny and full of action.
