21

This movie was directed by Robert Luketic and is a drama. The movie stars Jim Sturgess (Ben Campbell), Kevin Spacey (Micky Rosa), Kate Bosworth (Jill Taylor) and others. The movie is about MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) students who are trained by a teacher to become expert counters in the game of black jack to win big. I am glad I saw the movie because I read part of the book and because I will see most fact based movies that offer more trivia to know. It was interesting and was packed with drama and people having lots of fun in Vegas. It was kind of a cool story I think probably a story that has some lessons in some ways. Also a story far from realty often for a lot of people like myself who recently lost a 150 dollars gambling at the Mohegan Sun. I mean to say I think gambling and so forth is not always the greatest time for various reasons like it seemed for most of the movie. The movies plot was not the most grasping for me because I don't have plans to be a professional gambler, but it had cool scenes from the casinos in Las Vegas and it has an intricate plot that effects the main characters. So if you are interested in the gambling scene or related gambling drama, such as movies all about making money which many movies are I think you will like this movie.

Drillbit Taylor

This movie was directed by Steven Brill and is a comedy movie. The movie stars Owen Wilson (Drillbit Taylor), Nate Hartley (Wade), Troy Gentile (Ryan) and others. The movie is about three high school buddies who hire a bodyguard to protect them from highly troubling high school bullies. Every character in the movie is pretty much side-splitting except for the bullies but I have to give them the credit of making the laughing possible through the story. I liked how the high school students were being helped and were also helping Drillbit in the story. There was a ton of funny scenes and lines so I think this movie is a must see if you are a comedy buff.

Shutter

This movie was directed by Masayuki Ochiai and is a horror, mystery and thriller movie. The movie stars Joshua Jackson (Benjamin Shaw), Rachael Taylor (Jane Shaw), Megumi Okina (Megumi Tanaka) and others. The movie is about a newly married couple finding ghostly images in photographs that come about after a car accident and the pictures then of course lead to a unwinding mystery. I have to say this movie was pretty scary but somehow it was also filled with scenes that I was able to make jokes out of. For instance it seemed to me that the characters were incredibly brave while dealing with their ghostly circumstance, were as in real life for me I would have a supply of diapers when dealing with this type of problem. At first the movie did not seem scary to me but it was filled with some serious horror type scenes by the end. I did think the idea of the story was cool in certain ways like the idea of all these mysterious photographs in a horror movie. But anyhow I don't know if all the story was convincing for actually happening supernatural things, but it was still fun to watch, with some cool scenes and a more complex story then a lot of horror movies. So I thought this movie was pretty cool.

Horton Hears a Who

This movie was directed by Steve Martino and Jimmy Hayward and is an animation, adventure, family movie. The movie stars the voices of some really famous actors such as Jim Carrey (Horton), Carol Burnett (Kangaroo), Steve Carell (Mayor of Whoville) and others. The movie is about Horton an Elephant who finds and tries to protect a microscopic community from others in the jungle who believe he is full of bologna. Anyhow can't say anything bad about this movie. It was a Dr. Seuss book at first and I thought the movie writers did a good job at adding extra elements of hilarity. There was a lot comedy that was hard not to laugh at because what else would you expect from a talking elephant, kangaroo, and other Dr. Seuss type of creatures together in a movie. So I thought this movie was fun to go see.

Semi Pro

This movie was directed by Kent Alterman and is a comedy, sport movie. The movie stars Will Ferrell (Jackie Moon), Woody Harrelson (Monix), Will Arnett (Lou Redwood) and other good actors. The movie is about the owner Jackie Moon of the Flint Michigan Tropics trying to get his team into the NBA from a semi pro level. The movie was a bit trashy in humor but I thought it was definitely funny. The unfolding of the story is not the most amazing plot I have seen for a comedy but I thought throughout it was very funny so it is good for silly laughs. I think it was mostly funny because of Will Ferrell's typical cool but goofy role. Anyhow if you like Will Ferrell and funniness in movies I think you will like this movie. Perhaps this movie will make some serious basketball players lighten up because I have seen enough fights in the NBA now were people left and right were getting the smack down.

College Road Trip

This comedy movie was directed by Roger Kumble. The movie stars Martin Lawrence (Chief James Porter), Raven-Symone' (Melanie Porter), Brenda Song (Nancy) and others. The movie is about the overprotective parent Chief Porter following his daughter Melanie to college to make sure he can watch out over her. When I saw the preview to this movie I wanted to see the movie mostly because of the pig which was quite funny. The movie was filled with funny scenes more then lines. I can't really say anything bad about this movie because it was a comedy that brings about an amusing adventure on the way. So if you happen to just miss a crazy party at college maybe you could still go have fun and see this movie.

10,000 BC

This movie was directed by Roland Emmerich and is an adventure drama. The movie is about a young mammoths hunter hard journey to help protect his tribe from danger. The movie stars Steven Strait (D'Leh), Camilla Belle (Evolet) and Cliff Curtis (Tic 'Tic). I was not to familiar with these actor names but I think they were good. I was hoping the movie would show more truth from the time of 10,000 BC, because I am pretty sure the movie was mostly fiction. It seemed to me there was alot to follow in this movie to be able to understand what was going to happen. But anyhow I thought it was a cool idea for a movie, the special effects were good and I liked how the story unfolded for the characters so I do think this movie was pretty good.
