48 hour Film Project

The 48 Hour Film Project is a movie type festival I attended this week in Concord NH. I saw around ten short films that were shot in 48 hours according to the website and each movie also had similar catch phrases and props as according to the rules of the contest. From reading the 48 Hour Film Project website it looks like they are now holding this type of film festival contest annually and world wide. I found great humor among other things as well in pretty much all of the films, especially the winning film called Stalling. Stalling was about an assassin and regular Joe who are comically both dim witted and oblivious to the seriousness of the situation by making light of what was about to happen in the victims apartment, which made it quite hysterical at times in a somewhat dark comical way. So I just wanted to say here I saw a lot of talent in this big film project festival watching movies of romance, drama, action and comedy and I think also it looks like it would be a good opportunity for people to get more involved in filmmaking. According to the website there is a fee to show your video in the contest but there is also prizes and certificates for winning movies. And hey my friends who won best acting had a certificate that in a way looked surely more cool then the cheesy MTV popcorn award. No just kidding because I think the popcorn award trophy is actually pretty cool. So to wrap this blog entry up I will just say I am looking forward to hearing about this festival next year and here is the 48 Hour Project website for any visitors of my blog here who want to read more about it or view the various movies shown on the website-http://www.48hourfilm.com/filmmakers/faq.php
