Slumdog Millionaire (Finally)

So Slumdog Millionaire was a movie I finally got to see after hearing some good things from others and hearing about the awards it had won. Suppose I did also hear that it offended some people in India but that is probably above my pay grade to try and analyze; but to say one thing about that it seemed to me it was much like some American movie being filmed in a bad neighborhood, so I hope it was not that big of a problem to Indians. Anyhow back to my point of being a movie blogger the film is a crime, drama, romance movie starring some new stars as far as my knowledge of movies go. So the movie starred Dev Patel (Jamal K. Malik), Anil Kapoor (Prem Kumar), Freida Pinto (Latika) and others. The story is all about how the main character Jamal went through a really rough life and finally is faced with a possible break by being on the Indian version of who wants to be a millionaire. I thought this award winning movie was filmed and portrayed well for what it was trying to do. It also seemed to me had some really good music and even some cool dance scenes at one point. The awards also seem to say this and I would agree that it is up there for any Hollywood type movie, drama that's been put together. So since it won a ton of awards I think that is one major reason it is a bit of a must see if you are into dramas. Although I would have nominated it myself if I could for all the honors allowed, however I don't know if it was my favorite drama ever as I myself had trouble relating to the characters; but that matter was really alright by the end because I think it can also be interesting to view the world through others eyes and life situations. So yeah you don't even have to take my word for it because of all it's nominations but I am quite sure this movie is as good as any other related type of drama movie out there to go buy movie tickets for; as again I think overall it really performs well as a unique picture here on many different levels.

Yes Man

This movie is directed by Peyton Reed and is a comedy, romance movie. It stars the always funny Jim Carrey (Carl Allen), Zooey Deschanel (Allison), Bradley Cooper (Peter) and others. The movie plot is quite simple and I think offers an interesting, positive outlook on life in someways. So in this movie Carl Allen goes to a seminar and decides from the teachings there to say yes to different things that come way in life in return from the seminars teaching. Although I am a pretty easy going movie reviewer sometimes compared to some others who don't say yes to hardly any movies but I do think it is true that really just about anyone who saw this picture would like it enough. I think mostly it is a good one because you can't help but laugh at Jim Carrey here at times, it is romantic for couples and is kind of philosophical in a comical way through the main characters outlook on his life at times. So in other words I thought it was a neat story, and another good comedy by Jim Carrey that should be a great lighthearted pick for moviegoers.
