Halloween Movies

Halloween movies are some of my favorites. I think that the Halloween movies directed by John Carpenter have always been fun. In these movies you have the psychotic murderer Michael Myers who has been institutionalized since childhood out to get Jamie Lee Curtis and others and then there is also Dr. Loomis who is trying to stop Michael. I remember hearing how Halloween did extremely well in the box office for a movie that was produced on a very low budget. I have seen some of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies directed by Wes Craven and I did not really care for the Dream Child number 5 movie, but I did like the number two movie Freddy's revenge. I thought that it was funny because some of the acting is kind of cheesy. In Freddy's revenge Freddy gets inside of Jessie through his dreams and his girlfriend comes to his rescue. Jason vs. Freddy was good as well, which was directed by Ronny Wu who I thought did a really good job with this movie. I think that in the movie Freddy pretty much wins against Jason but it is close to tell. I did not really think this movie was scary because I mean the two horror characters coming together and what have you just seems far fetched, but it was fun to watch. I remember seeing Jeepers Creepers in the movies, which was directed by Victor Salva and starred Gina Philips, Justin Long and others and this movie I did find to be scary. This was not because of the terrifying monster it was because the plot of the movie was creepy, where you have two teenagers out in the middle of nowhere being chased by the green monster. Psycho was another movie I liked which I remember seeing right around Halloween time. If you are into horror movies Psycho is one that is worthwhile to see because I have heard John Carpenter say it was influential to him and also because it has a twist in the movie that makes the horror seem even more frightening. I think Alfred Hitchcock knew how to get the audiences attention with his movies. Anyhow these are just some of the Halloween movies I have enjoyed in the past and I am hoping to see some more good ones by the end of October.
