Christmas with the Cranks

I recently saw Christmas with the Cranks for a second time. This movie was directed by Joe Roth and stars Tim Allen (Luther Krank), Jamie Lee Curtis (Nora Krank) and Dan Aykroyd (Luther Frohmeyer). In the movie Nora and Luther Kran plan a trip to the Caribbean on Christmas while there daughter is away at the time. But the Cranks have trouble just leaving for Christmas because there neighbors don't want them to stop with different Christmas traditions such as putting up frosty, or having a Christmas party in there house. This movie was comical and full of moments of hilarity. It was a good Christmas movie because I bet some people do share a Christmas tradition with neighbors. The movie kept me interested through out because I was not sure what was going to happen to the characters in the movie because different important situations were occurring to all of the main characters in the movie, such as all of the neighbors who wanted to celebrate Christmas around the neighborhood and the Cranks who were trying to get out of celebrating Christmas because they thought they would be better off going on a vacation. I enjoyed this movie because it was a light hearted comedy that would be a good movie for everyone in the family to watch.

Surviving Christmas

I recently saw Surviving Christmas which is a movie directed by Mike Mitchell and stars Ben Affleck ( Drew Latham), James Gandolfini (Tom Valco), Christina Applegate (Alicia Valco), Catherine O'hara (Christine Valco) Josh Zuckerman ( Brian Valco) and other good actors as well. The story revolves around Drew Latham who is a lonely young millionaire who returns to his childhood home to spend Christmas there with a family he has never met before. I thought that the plot was funny enough to make several sequels. Basically you have a somewhat disfunctional family that is not really all that into the Christmas spirit and then you have a total stranger who pays his way into the family for Christmas, which can only but make things even more comical. I had heard that this movie did not get that many good reviews but I would say that it was a really good movie because each of the characters in the movie are in fact characters themselves. It was also a movie that kept my attention the whole time because you don't really now exactly how the Valco family feels about Drew until the end. So I would recommend this movie to anyone out looking for a good movie to check out.

The Incredibles

I recently saw The Incredibles, which is a childrens movie but is fun for all ages. It was directed by Brad Bird and is narrated by actors such as Craig Nelson, Helen Hunt, Jason Lee and Samuel Jackson. The main characters are the Parr family, which is Elastigirl, Mr. Incredible and the Parrs 3 children. The Parr family all have certain superpowers which is why they are superheros. The superheros in the movie go up against the evil Syndrome, who is a superhero wannabe in a crazy evil way. I found The Incredibles to be an entertaining movie because it is a movie about different superheros and I mean come on who doesn't like a superhero. I also enjoyed the picture because it has comedy, animation, action, sci fi, and is a movie that everyone in the family can watch.

The Fog

The Fog is a movie that came out originally in 1980 and was directed by John Carpenter and the one that came out in 2005 also was made with the help of John Carpenter. The plot of this movie is that a hundred years ago off the coast of an isolated Northern Californian town a ship of Lepers trying to find refuge were betrayed by the people who ran the town. I enjoyed the special effects in this movie and some of the songs that were on the soundtrack as well, but overall I would say that it was not a very scary movie to watch for me. So if you are a real horror fan this movie may not be exactly what you are looking for in my opinion. It was definitely entertaining though. There are many scenes that are filled with unexpected action. Although not the scariest movie I have seen I would recommend it because there was nothing really boring about the movie.

Batman Begins

I recently saw Batman Begins again and it reminded of just what a good movie it really is. Bruce Wayne is in jail in another country and seeks to come back to Gotham City to avenge his parents deaths. With the help of police officer Jim Gordon Bruce Wayne tries to take back Gotham city from criminals Jonathan the Scarecrow Crane and Mafia don Falcone. I enjoyed this movie because it has a great cast of characters, Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne), Michael Caine (Alfred), Liam Neeson (Henri Ducard), Katie Holmes (Rachael Dawes), Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox), Rutger Hauer (Earle) and many more. I also liked this movie because Bruce Wayne comes off as a really cool guy because he is a billionaire, fights crime, throws parties in his mansion and drives cool cars. The action and plot moves along nicely in this movie, which is another reason why I found it a movie that is worthwhile to go and see.

Narnia

I recently saw the move Narnia, which turned out to be much better then I thought it was going to be. Narnia was based on a novel by CS Lewis. The movie is about four children Peter, Lucy, Edmund and Susan who are sent off to live in a professors house to be kept safe from the dangers of World War 2. When they are in the professors house they find a wardrobe that leads to the world of Narnia were creatures like talking beavers and horses live. I would say that this movie was a cross from the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. If you are a person who is into sci fi out of this world movie stuff it would be perfect for you. It is filled with moments of comedy, sadness and happiness of course. The special effects were good as well so I would say overall the movie is worth buying a ticket for.
