The Forbidden Kingdom

This movie was directed by Rob Minkoff and is an action, comedy, fantasy and adventure movie. The movie stars Jet Li (The Monkey King/The Silent Monk), Jackie Chan (Lu Yan/Old Hop), Michael Angarano (Jason Tripitikas) and others. The idea of the movie was that a teenager living in Boston Jason Tripitikas finds a special discovery that leads him onto a magical adventure to China to free the imprisoned Money King warrior. This movie was quite hard to follow for me because the magical realm and possibilities that unfolds within the story. Maybe it was just me but I thought the movie was a bit cheesy with all the warrior heroics and fantasy powers. I guess I mean to say this movie definitely comes from Hollywood not real life. The movie was much like a cross from a magic type like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter and the Karate Kid I thought. So If that is your style I think you will like this because of the different powers the characters have and the mystery of what could possibly happen in the magical world Jason finds. So I think if you are into magic stuff and martial arts you might like this movie but for me I found that it was nothing I related to, kind of predictable and silly but perhaps I could be wrong depending upon your interests.

Superhero Movie

This movie was directed by Craig Mazin and is an action, comedy, sci fi, thriller movie. The movie stars Drake Bell (Rich Riker/Dragonfly), Sara Paxton (Jill Johnson), Leslie Nielsen (Uncle Albert) and others. This movie is pretty simple it is a story that makes spoof on other superhero movies such as Batman, Spider-man, X-Men, the Fantastic Four and there might be some more because I am not fully updated on my marvel trivia. But anyhow the movie was very funny I laughed a lot, the kind of funny that is just so silly you have to laugh. These kind of movies you can't really get any serious meaning out of them so I would just refer to it as chewing gum to watch; although it did almost make me question switching my personality to the other side of me I know as the Banana Duck Man, just playing here. But anyhow back to the serious movie review for a silly movie. I think this movie fits in very nicely if you really want to laugh and like to see people made fun of in good spirits in this case Superheros. So I can't really say anything to bad about this movie and I think you should go see it if you are looking for some laughs without a serious story line which is why I enjoyed in this movie.
