The Simpsons

The Simpons Movie was directed by David Silverman and is an animation and comedy movie. The movie is about Homer polluting the local river causing the Environmental Protection Agency to put a dome around the town and also President Schwarzenegger attempts to bring total damage to Springfield. I thought the movie was good and full of laughs. I don't think there is anything really bad to say about the movie because I think the movie lived up to the TV show and had a pretty funny story. And on a side note It was also interesting getting to see the world wide premier in Springfield Vermont were some of the creators where their like Matt Groening and they also had a giant tasty looking donut and hand statue, a whole lot of fans, music, a yellow carpet and people dressed up like the Simpson's family.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry was directed by Dennis Dugan and it stars Adam Sandler (Chuck Levine), Kevin James (Larry Valentine), Jessica Biel (Alex McDonough) Dan Akroyd (Capt. Tucker), Ving Rhames (Duncan), Steve Buscemi (Clinton Fitzer) and others. The movie is a comedy and the plot of the movie is that two straight guys pretend to be a couple to get domestic partner benefits. The movie had a lot of sexual humor but I myself did not find it offensive towards anybody. It seemed to me that their was a lot of the same actors that I have seen in other Adam Sandler movies in this one, such as some of the actors from the movie The Wedding Singer like Steve Buscemi. Anyhow I thought most of the scenes in the movie were filled with comedy which was good and I think it was a pretty easy plot to make jokes out of. So I think this movie is worth a ticket to see and it might even be fun to ask a friend who you wouldn't want to marry to see it on a date, no just kidding.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

This Harry Potter movie was directed by David Yates and is an adventure, fantasy, drama and family movie. The movie stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), Jason Boyd (Piers), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and others. In the movie the threatening Lord Voldemort is said to return and Harry and Dumbledore are the subject of Wizards authorities at the Hogwart school as a power hungry person at the school tries to take over everything. I have never read the books or seen any other movies then the first but I caught on well enough to this one, although I think sometimes that magic type movies can be hard to understand because any out of the world type of thing can happen to the characters. The movie had good special effects but I am not really crazy about most wizard type movies and I think that it seems silly to me to think that a group of young kids would be able to possess magic so that they could take on the world, adults and evil doer characters. It will be interesting to see how many movies J.K. Rowling actually makes from the Harry Potter series and It might be interesting to see the last movie of them all since I have already seen two of them. But anyhow the movie did have good special effects and I bet if you don't mind fantasy out of this world type of stuff this movie is right up your alley somehow.

License to Wed

License to Wed was a romance comedy movie that was directed by Ken Kwapis and stars Mandy Moore (Sadie Jones), Robin Williams (Reverend Frank), John Krasinski (Ben Murphy), Eric Christian Olsen (Carlisle), Christine Taylor (Lindsay Jones) and other good actors. The movie is about Ben and Sadie getting married at a church run by Reverend Frank who offers a marriage course to see if couples were meant to be. The movie was funny and Robin Williams did a good job playing a role that was was reminiscent of his kind of acting were he plays some sort of professional who is funny just like in Patch Adams and some other movies of his as well. I don't know if the movie really glamorizes marriage but I think overall it was a good romantic comedy.

Transformers

Transformers was directed by Michael Bay and is an action, adventure and sci fi movie. The movie stars Shia LaBeouf (Sam Witwicky), Megan Fox (Mikaela Banes), Josh Duhamel (Sergaent Lennox), Tyrese Gibson (USAF Tech Sergaent Epps), Jon Voight (Defense Secretary John Keller), John Turturro (Agent Simms) and others. The movie is about the Decipticons and Autobots leaving their planet to fight a war over the future fate of Earth. I thought that the special effects were amazing and that the Transformers was a really good superhero type story to make into an actual movie not a cartoon like it used to be. The movie was kind of scary like the Terminator in a sense because you have these machines that have more power than anyone. I thought the beggining, the end and all the scenes with the Transformers were good so I think this movie was really cool.

Ratatouille

Ratatouille was directed by Brad Bird who also directed the animated movie The Incredibles and it was of the family, comedy and animation genres. The movie starred the voices of Patton Oswalt (Remy), Ian Holm (Skinner), Lou Romano (Linguini), Brian Dennehy (Django), Peter Sohn (Emile), Janeane Garofalo (Colette) Will Arnett (Horst) and others. The movie is about a rat that lives in the building that is a famous restaurant in Paris and he has good senses for food and wants to cook in the restaurant, but he has to overcome some of the restaurants staff and his family's feelings about him being a cook in the restaurant. I thought some of the scenes were really funny because both Linguini and Remy were very amusing characters. The movie had a nice message that anyone can cook and made me think that I should experiment with cooking but I don't know if I would be ready to make the meal known as ratatouille yet. Anyhow I liked the overall plot in the movie and I was glad I bought a ticket for it.
