Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher is a movie that was directed by Lawrence Kasdan and it was based on a book by Stephen King. It stars some good actors such as Morgan Freeman (Col. Abraham Curtis), Thomas Jane (Dr. Henry Devlin), Jason Lee (Joe 'Beaver' Clarenden), Donnie Wahlberg (Douglas 'Duddits' Cavell) Tom Sizemore (Lieutenant Underhill) and others. In the movie four old time buddies are out Vacationing in a log cabin and find that there are extraterrestrials on a mission right where they are staying. I enjoyed the intriguing movie because slowly throughout you start to find out more and more about what is going on between the four main characters in the movie who are good friends and you slowly learn more about the situations of the colonel and lieutenant, and the aliens that are trying to take control. I also thought the ending was unexpected making the story even more interesting. So if you are a sci fi fan or a Stephen king fan or something along those lines I don't think this movie will disappoint.

Secret Window

The Secret Window is directed by David Koepp and was originally a novel by Stephen King, but the screen play was written by David Koepp. The movie was a drama, thriller and horror movie starring Johnny Depp (Mort Rainey), John Turturro (John Shooter), Maria Bello (Amy Rainey), and a couple of other actors and actresses. In the movie you find that Mort Rainey is a complicated character that has a couple of serious issues. I thought it was even better the second time because I saw Rainey from a different perspective and I understood more about him as a complicated character in the movie. Anyways I could tell even if I didn't know it was based on a novel by Stephen King that it was because of the intense drama and horror that occurs throughout the film. I also thought the very last scene is a thrilling and dramatic scene that is a good way to end the scary movie. So if you like Stephen King or horror movies a lot I think this movie will not disappoint.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Mr. & Mrs. Smith was a movie directed by Doug Liman and it starred Angelina Jolie (Jane Smith), Brad Pitt (John Smith), Vince Vaughn (Eddie), and a couple of other actors and actresses as well. The plot of the movie is that a married couple are having relationship issues, which come about because they all of a sudden find out that they both are working as assassins hired to do the same job so now they are out to get each other. This movie was entertaining and funny but It did not seem very realistic to me. It was entertaining though and there were some intense scenes of action. I thought that Vince Vaughn had one of the funniest parts in the movie like he usually does in his movies. It did not really have a very meaningful point but if you are a person who likes action adventure movies and your imagination is unlimited to what Hollywood can create then I am sure you will probably like this movie a lot.

House of Wax

House of Wax was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and originally came out in 1953 not in 2005. It is a horror movie, which stars Elisha Cuthbert, Brian Van Holt, Paris Hilton, Chad Michael Murray and a couple of other pretty good actors and actresses as well. The plot of the story is that six young people are out looking for fun and come along a town that is in the middle of nowhere and they also come upon two brothers who are out to do no good. I enjoyed this movie because yes it was highly unrealistic but it was not completely unrealistic and throughout the story it was hard to find out exactly what was going to happen in the wax museum. I liked the special effects and the acting as well. I think the ending was good and it was kind of typical for a scary movie. I enjoyed this movie and I think anyone who enjoys horror movies and has a bit of an imagination will as well.

War of the Worlds

War of the Worlds was directed by Steven Spielberg and was originally made into a movie by Byron Haskin back in 1953. War of the Worlds was also originally a novel written by H.G. Wells. War of the Worlds stars Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning and Tim Robbins. It is a action, sci fi, drama, horror and thriller type of a movie. Tom Cruise or (Ray Ferrier) is a working class man living in New Jersey and he has a son and daughter Rachael Ferrier and Robbie Ferrier. In the movie aliens take over the world and Ray Ferrier tries to escape from them with his two kids as aliens wage war. The movie was a little bit different from a typical alien movie because you do not see violence all through the movie, which you see more of in a movie like Independence Day. Instead you mostly just see Tom Cruise running away from aliens, which kind of leaves you on the edge of your seat. The movie had an unsuspected ending, which was kind of dramatic. I thought that the movie was intense and it kept me on the edge of the seat, but in the end I thought that the movie had the same plot as most alien type movies that I have seen so I was not all that impressed. But I would say that if someone is into sci fi alien type movies this is probably worth paying to see.
