The Dark Knight

This movie was directed by Christopher Nolan and is an action, drama, crime, thriller and mystery movie. The movie has some big names, such as Christian Bale (Batman/Bruce Wayne), Heath Ledger (The Joker), I thought played very well might I add, Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent/Two-face) and other big actors. It was too bad that Katie Holmes could not play Rachael Dawes again; not saying that Maggie Gyllenhaal did not do a good job, but it was one little difference. Oh well when you're into a movie I think you forget past roles of the actor or actress, just as I forgot Batman to be the character from American Psycho, I would definitely say contradicting roles there. The movie is about Batman, Lieutenant James Gordon and Harvey Dent taking on crime and The Joker causing waves of chaos among the city through trickery and deceit. The movie has many different intricate relationships and twists so it can get a little complicated, but overall it was not that hard to follow for me by the end. It seemed that the movie showed a lot of the good guys losing there battles quite a bit at times, which is a change from a lot of Marvel movies. The movie was rather long and I think they could have possibly done without certain scenes without Batman action heroics because I think that was what people mostly wanted to see. Anyhow the movie was pretty good, but I would not say the movie was really any better then some of the past movies. Finally I will say here I think this complex movie is worth seeing if you're into Marvel movies because that way you will be up to date on Batman, which seems to be a movie series that does not discontinue. Plus I think the scenes were dazzling and full of good special effects.

Hellboy 2 The Golden Army

This movie directed by Guillermo del Toro has elements of action, adventure, comedy, drama, fantasy and sci fi in it. The movie stars Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Selma Blair (Liz Sherman), Jeffrey Tambor (Tom Manning) and others. The movie is about how the mythical world turns it back on humans forcing Hellboy and his team to help to fight against Prince Nuada who tries to control the Golden Army. Well I definitely think this movie had good special effects, costumes seeing how many creatures exist here and scenes for a fantasy movie. The movie to me seemed to have so many different fantasy things going on, it reminded much of Men in Black with Lord of the Rings as well as even other similar movies to these two combined. I think that Hellboy is a likable character because he has a sketchy origin in the world being the son of the devil, but he was taken in by the military when young and chooses to be a good guy in the world. I am glad I went to see this movie on a regular day not a peculiar one because this movie was out there on the realm of fantasy for someone having a strange day. But anyhow I can't really say anything bad much of this film just be ready to be thrilled by a lot of fantasy, sci fi entwined in the story, lots of creatures, and I thought a plot that does it's own thing in a lot of ways, which I think is a good thing.

Hancock

Well I think we can assume that the character Hancock might be related to that one party animal psychotic friend you might of known back in school who was always willing to put every ones life in danger. But anyhow the superhero Hancock is a good guy but he is a character. This movie was played by Will Smith (Hancock), Charlize Theron (Mary Embrey), Jason Bateman (Ray Embrey) and others. This action, comedy, drama, fantasy movie was directed by Peter Berg. The plot of the movie is that Hancock a rather unique superhero tries to win back the publics favor with the help of a public relations worker, whose wife also is interested in who Hancock is. I thought the movie was good because the cool scenes, special effects and because it made me curious about the story because Hancock is a bit of an apple the fell far from the tree as far as superheroes go. But I also thought the movie could have been a little funnier because the story line was really comical and that it seemed a little cheesy to me with heavy drama for an obvious phony movie. But overall I would say that it is a good movie to go and see because Hancock is such an interesting character who is fallible like regular people and infallible like a superhero making him a cool idea for a movie. So I think this movie is really worth the ticket if you want to see action, adventure and some type of superhero.
